Ticketing

How can I book tickets or a subscription package?

Tickets can be purchased online via the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra website or The Concourse website (www.theconcourse.com.au).

You may also contact The Concourse box office on +61 2 8075 8111 or concourse_boxoffice@century.com.au. The box office is also open in person on Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9am – 4pm (closed 12pm- 1pm). It will also be open one hour prior to each concert. 

I purchased my tickets online but did not receive my tickets via email. What do I do?

We recommend checking your spam inbox for the tickets. If you have not received your tickets, please contact The Concourse box office on +61 2 8075 8111 or concourse_boxoffice@century.com.au. You may also visit the venue box office one hour prior to the concert.

Am I eligible for concession pricing?

Concession tickets are available to means-tested Australian pensions (Aged, Disability, Veterans' Affairs, Supporting Parent, and Job Search) and full-time students. We will also accept Seniors Cards as a form of ID to obtain a concession ticket.

Please note: Proof of eligibility must be shown when collecting tickets and may be required before entering each concert.

Am I eligible for Under 35 tickets?

Youth tickets are available for all concerts except from family concerts. Tickets for youth are offered with valid proof of eligibility (for example: current form of ID). Proof of eligibility must be presented when collecting tickets and may also be required before admission to each concert.

Do you accept Companion Card bookings?

I can no longer attend a concert. Can I receive a credit or refund?

If you are no longer able to attend a concert, we are happy to offer credit to attend an alternative Willoughby Symphony Orchestra event. Your request must be made at least 24 hours prior to your booked concert. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refunds except in extenuating circumstances (for example: illness).

Can I purchase a gift certificate for future performances?

Gift certificates are not available. 

Concerts

Where are Willoughby Symphony Orchestra concerts and how do I get there?

The Willoughby Symphony Orchestra is the resident orchestra of The Concourse Chatswood (www.theconcourse.com.au) with performances occurring in the Concert Hall.

The Concourse is located in the heart of Chatswood on Sydney’s North Shore. It can be reached in 15 minutes from the Sydney CBD and 30 minutes from the airport by car.

The Concourse is a five-minute walk from the Chatswood Interchange, which incorporates both train and bus terminals. From the Chatswood Interchange, walk down Chatswood Mall and onto Victoria Avenue, east of the station.

By Car

The Concourse is equipped with an onsite car park for 400 vehicles located on the basement level of the venue adding to the existing 15,000 car spaces in Chatswood. The car park entrance is on Ferguson Lane via Archer Street. Accessible parking spaces are available in The Concourse car park and in nearby Endeavour and Spring Streets.

By Train/Metro

Chatswood Train Station is located at the Chatswood Interchange and is frequently serviced by Sydney Trains – T1 North Shore and T9 Northern Line as well as the Sydney Metro.

By Bus

Chatswood’s main bus terminal can be found at the Chatswood Interchange, immediately next to Chatswood Train Station. From there, it is a five-minute walk through Chatswood Mall to The Concourse.

By Taxi

There is a taxi rank outside The Concourse on Victoria Avenue. The busiest taxi rank is located on Railway Street on the west side of the Chatswood Interchange.

What time do the doors open?

The foyer doors will open one hour prior to the concert. The internal doors to the concert hall will open half an hour prior to the concert.

Is the concert venue accessible?

Wheelchair accessible seating is available. All enquiries and bookings for patrons in a wheelchair or companion card holders must go through The Concourse box office.

Assisted Listening Systems are offered in the Concert Hall, foyer and bar areas. Please contact The Concourse box office for enquiries and to collect your hearing device.

Can I bring a child to a concert?

For the enjoyment of all patrons, we encourage children aged over 5 years old to attend. Special concerts including our live to film concerts and Christmas concerts are suitable for all ages. Family concerts are suitable for all ages. For more information, please visit the individual concert webpages.

Children aged under 2 years at the time of the performance may be seated on a parent’s lap free of charge. All children occupying a seat or 2+ years must hold a valid ticket.

Enjoy a special ‘Music Family’ discount to our main season concerts - purchase one adult ticket and bring a child under 16 free of charge. Select ‘Music Family’ when purchasing your tickets and the discount will be added automatically.

Can my child attend a concert by themselves?

Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times when attending a concert as The Concourse is a licensed venue. We will deny entry to the child if they are unattended by a responsible adult.

Do I need to print my tickets?

Unless you purchased your tickets at the box office, your tickets will have been emailed to you. You do not need to print out your tickets and they can simply be scanned at the door.

Are there programs available?

Programs are available free of charge at all main season and special presentation concerts.

To support our commitment to the environment and ensure sufficient programs for all attendees, we kindly ask patrons to share a program between two people and avoid taking more copies than necessary.

What if I am running late?

If you are running late to a concert, you will still be allowed in. However, there is a lock out. Ushers will wait until there is a suitable break in the music to seat you to ensure minimal disruption for other patrons and the orchestra.

What should I wear to a Willoughby Symphony Orchestra concert?

It is not a requirement to wear formal attire to a Willoughby Symphony Orchestra concert. Please wear what makes you feel comfortable. We recommend bringing a light coat as the Concert Hall may feel cooler than outside temperatures. 

Please note that a cloakroom is not available. Please keep your personal belongings with you. Pram and wheelchair parking is available in the foyer during the concert, and left at your own risk. 

Can I take a photo or video of the concert?

We ask that you refrain from photography or videography of all concerts, unless directed otherwise by staff.  

I had my photo taken in the foyer in front of the media wall before the concert or at intermission. Where can I find my photo?

Your photos will be posted on the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra’s Facebook page within 2 weeks of the concert concluding. Please feel free to like, comment and share your photo. 

Venue

Where are the toilets?

Toilets are located on the ground floor next to box office and on level 2. Disabled toilets can be found on the ground floor and level one. 

Will there be drinks and snacks?

The bar will open one hour prior to the concert and during intermission. A range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as snacks are available for purchase. Please note that the bar is not open after the concert. 

Is there a cloakroom available?

Please note that The Concourse does not offer a cloakroom service. Pram and wheelchair parking is available in the foyer during the concert, and left at your own risk.
